Developing a brand identity for start up creative agency ‘Calster Create’. The made-up word ‘Calster’ is from a translation of a 1961 soviet sci-fi novel by Stanislaw Lem ‘Return from the Stars’. The agency tend to do work for tech, fintech and tech-enabled businesses that have roots in California, so the sci-fi reference is a little nod to that. In the novel a Calster is a personal device that prints money, all very auspicious and a great brief.
‘Pulpy textured and eye popping’ was the brief.
I also had fun with a concept playing on the idea of a machine that inputs brain power and outputs work. All very much developed as my as a result of learning some simple animation.
